Can you get a 2 weeks contact lens with daily disposable lens prescription?
I recently got daily disposable contact lenses to wear them when I’m snowboarding. I wear glasses and I used to snowboard without glasses but my eye sights got worse(myopia -2.75, -3.00) and I can’t see the bumps on the slope well at dusk.
I’ll use the contacts only when I’m snowboarding.
So I got a disposable contact lens exam (1 day Acuvue) and it seems that the best price I could find on these was $18.50 a box. For 4 boxes (2 months), it comes out $74. They’ll be enough for this winter and maybe winter. I haven’t ordered yet.
Then I found out from a hot deals website that you can buy 8 boxes of Acuvue Oasis (2 weeks disposable, 1 year’s supply) for just $111.98. I was wondering if I could order it without getting a new contact lens prescription and another question is if I open one up, how long can it last if I used only once? Like if I open a pair and use one day on this Saturday then put them in a contact lens case, can I use them next Saturday?
How long can I use like that? How many times?

I know it’s tempting to use disposable contacts longer than they say,,,,but think about it,,,it’s YOUR EYES !
I have disposable 30-day contacts, and I replace them the first of every month. They still seem good to me, but there’s a reason for the length of time , so trust in the manufacturer and your eye doctor and dispose of the lenses however you are sposed to.
If it’s a daily disposable lens, dispose of them each night; two week disposable, wear them 2 weeks, and dispose.
You could maybe wear them longer, but they aren’t made too; you might save a buck, but IT’S YOUR EYES !!!!!!
If it seems wasteful to you, then get regular contacts and you can take them in and out whenever you please. Just be careful the solution doesn’t dry out in between wearings.
And, no you can’t change prescriptions from one day to two week without the doc writing a new prescription for you. I get mine at Sam’s Club and they beat any price I have found yet.
What’s the name of the web site you found?????
The daily disposables sound fine for you,,,,since you only wear them snow skiing, unless of course you routinely go on two week skiing sprees, and in that case, take me too please ! LOL
